Hold on tight runners… spring is here!  And with nicer weather, comes road races.  At The Break Hotel, we have lots of guests who enjoy participating in local races while they visit. Newport Night Run
APRIL 6 at 7:30 PM
Newport, RI
The city-by-the-sea’s annual after-hours 5K showcases some of Newport’s most beautiful rural roads, including parts of Ocean Avenue and Hazard Road. The race starts and finishes at Rogers High School. A portion of all registration fees and 100% of all sponsorship fees go directly to the Newport Public Education Foundation.

Clamdigger 5K

The course is on flat, fast roads along Atlantic Avenue. The 5K will turn around near Weekapaug Bridge; 5 Mile course continues along the ocean through Weekapaug before returning to Atlantic Avenue. Both courses are USATF certified.

Annual Shad Bloom 10K Trail Run

Probably the most athletic harbinger of spring on Block Island is the Annual Shad Bloom 10K, timed to coincide with the blossoming of the shad trees on the island. A favorite among islanders and visitors alike, the course takes you on a scenic trip around Block Island with every mile a different path and picturesque view.

32nd Annual Narrow River Road Race

Help support the Narrow River Preservation Association. The USA Track & Field (USATF) certified 10K course (#RI06004RN) starts and finishes at the Narragansett Town Beach. The 5K course (#RI06005RN) begins at Treaty Rock Park on Middlebridge Road in South Kingstown and finishes at the Narragansett Town Beach.

Bank Newport 10 Miler

The course prominently features Newport’s scenic coastal views and ends with a truly unique finish as participants enter Fort Adams through the north gate and finish on the parade field. Feature two non-profit beneficiaries: The Fort Adams Trust and the Boys and Girls Club of Newport County.

Craft Brew Races

Narragansett Lions Club Blessing of the Fleet 10 Mile Road Race

The annual Blessing of the Fleet 10-Mile Road Race is one of the highlights of our 3-day festival surrounding the famous Blessing of the Fleet in Galilee, RI. Runners, walkers, and wheelchair entrants compete on a course that covers 10 miles. This certified race course winds its way through scenic Narragansett, and is listed as one of the top three races of its distance in New England.
