The variety of entertainment for all ages make the South County Balloon Festival one of Rhode Island’s most popular summer events. Over the years this event has grown into a beloved 2-day festival that includes an officially sanctioned road race, a festive parade of boats, great food, live music, and people by the thousands making wonderful new memories.

  • Thursday, July 26 – Saturday, July 28: Seafood Festival – Attended by almost 30,000 people each year, the Seafood Festival is a major part of the Blessing of the Fleet Festival event. Find fabulous seafood offered by the Narragansett Lions Club and prepared in the New England tradition, as well as other food vendors, a carnival, our famous beer tent (we also have wine), plus live music performed by popular local bands.
  • Friday, July 27: 10-Mile Road Race
    Runners, walkers, and wheelchair entrants compete on the scenic course that covers 10 miles. Winding its way through historic Narragansett, it is officially sanctioned and listed as one of the top three races of its distance in New England.
  • Saturday, July 28: Blessing of the Fleet
    The Blessing of the Fleet is a spectacularly colorful event featuring a parade of decorated commercial and recreational watercraft, large and small. Local clergymen bless each and every vessel as they pass before them, and a panel of judges rate the decorations in a variety of categories.
